bach in the subways 2017

Yesterday, YONA celebrated Bach’s 332nd birthday by participating in Bach in the Subways, which is a global initiative to bring live classical music into public spaces. This year was YONA’s second time being involved in this event.

Nine of our students spent the day learning about Bach’s life, listening to his music while creating art, and rehearsing music. We finished the day by walking to the Coliseum LRT station, where we set up our music stands and performed for about half an hour. During this time, more than 200 people passed by and heard music by Bach, performed by our YONA students.

We had a great time spending the day together and playing music, and we’re excited to do it again next year!  Enjoy these photos from the day, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BACH!
